How to write a story, captions and a headline

STORY MUST-HAVES

  1. GOOD LEAD IN
    • Use a well-known phrase or song-
    • Use alliteration-
    • Use a cliffhanger-
    • Use sights and sounds-
    • Use repetition-
    • Use “ing” words
    • Use a question
  2. GOOD QUOTE
  3. TRANSITION (FACTS!!!!)
  4. ANOTHER QUOTE
  5. CONCLUSION

Make it at least 5 sentences!

CAPTION MUST-HAVES

  • Lead in one or two words
    • 1st sentence- who, what, when, where in present tense
    • 2nd sentence- (optional) why or how, in past tense
    • 3rd sentence- a "one of a kind" quote 
  • Dominate captions need all 3. Secondary captions just 1.

HEADLINE MUST HAVES

  • 1st headline- CREATIVE!!!
    • Remember to brainstorm rhyming words and phrases
  • 2nd headline- Tell us what the spread is about in a complete sentence with subject and verb.
